King’s Cross Underground Station Re-Development Phase 1
As part of the redevelopment of St Pancras station in readiness for its new role as the Channel Tunnel Rail Link terminus, there was a requirement to monitor both the historic Grade I Listed facade and the Kings Cross Thameslink Tunnel beneath it. (43)
Soil Instruments supplied tape extensometers and survey points on the facade, electrolevels within the structure and electrolevel beams in the Thameslink tunnel. To protect the interface between the Thameslink and the adjacent LUL tunnel, Soil Instruments also supplied a state-of-the-art fibre-optic link for data transfer from Railtrack to LUL property, ensuring no possibility of electrical interference.
