Soil instruments were selected to supply an In-Place Inclinometer (IPI) solution for monitoring and automatic data collection during slope re-profiling, drilling for sheet pile installation and additional slope drainage.

On-going monitoring was required for 12 months after installation with minimal disruption to rail services. Soil Instruments GEOSmart sensors with 0.5m spacing and GTecLink wireless nodes / gateways were specified. Having all equipment in stock meant Soil Instruments were able to deliver, install and commence monitoring within 48 hours of receiving the client’s instructions. Following seamless installation of the hardware by a single technician, Management Software was configured with several key alarm levels for sending critical movement alerts by email, before the system was formally handed over to CET Group Ltd, the monitoring contractor.
