E9 Draw-wire sensor
Datasheet
The Draw-wire sensor, also referred to as wire crack meter and wire extensometer allows for monitoring the changes in the distance between the Draw-wire Sensor and an anchor point.
The compact Draw-wire sensor is designed for large displacements when monitoring cracks, rock masses, earth faults and landslides.
Product Features
- Suitable for long-term monitoring
- Suitable for manual or remote monitoring
- Rugged design
Product Benefits
- Accurate, repeatable readings over long cable lengths
- Long working life, long-term stability and reliability
- Connecting cable is strong, screened and flexible
- Ideal for installations in harsh environments
Operation
By setting the wire to mid-range the sensor can monitor both extension or convergence of the anchor position.
The distance between the anchor and the sensor can be up to 30 m and the connection is made by stainless steel wire configurable on-site. Changes in the distance between the sensor and the anchor are measured by the sensor.
Applications
The compact Draw-wire measures displacements between two positions in structures, rock masses and ground surfaces.
Typical applications include:
- Landslides
- Earth faults
- Rock mass monitoring
